Regional support
The Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) has developed a support programme and information pack Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of Children and Young People designed to assist Strategic Health Authority Children’s Safeguarding Leads and CSIP Regional Change Agents to deliver workshops with a regional focus on:
- leadership
- commissioning
- governance arrangements, and
- assurance frameworks (identifying the risks and controls).
The programme is designed to:
- enable newly re-configured NHS organisations to meet their statutory responsibility in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- help NHS organisations to be competent to contribute fully to their Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB), and
- support SHAs specifically, to consider their statutory role in engaging with LSCBs but also their leadership and performance role in relation to NHS Trusts.
